A Bit About "The Black Oak"

761 Top Ridge Road, Stanardsville, Virginia 22973

At over 1,100 feet above sea level, resting along the top ridge of Lydia Mountain, The Black Oak has long and captivating views of central Virginia's blue mountains and rolling green hills. The Black Oak was designed to give you and the people you love a space for meaningful connection. Carefully selected furnishings, hand-restored reclaimed woods, cedar timber beams, and white oak floors lend to The Black Oak's beauty and class. Whether for a romantic getaway for two, a weekend with friends, or a vacation for your whole family--The Black Oak provides the comforts of home in a gorgeous mountainous setting.

Bedroom one, on the main floor, has a king bed and en suite bathroom including separate toilet. Bedroom two, on the upper floor, has a king bed, en suite bathroom, and separate toilet. Bedroom three, The Buffalo Room, has seven twin beds (2 bunk beds, 2 trundles, + single) with shared access with the rec room to a full bathroom.

The fully-equipped kitchen encourages gatherings with good food and drink and offers a matchless picture window view. The great room includes ample seating with a high efficiency wood burning fireplace. The Black Oak's comfort extends outdoors with a screened in porch, al fresco upper deck, and a lower deck with an outdoor cedar shower. Upstairs, the rec room is perfect for viewing your favorite films, playing board games, or letting your imagination and a good book take you on an adventure.

Here are some notes of appreciation left in our cabin guest books.

"When my son announced that he was getting married in the mountains of Virginia and we would be staying in cabins, I didn't know what to expect. This was spectacular! We loved the cabins, the hot tubs. Everything was perfect. We were so impressed. Thank you for the beautiful, well equipped cabins. The weekend was fantastic."
The Rothermels, Boyertown, PA

"Thank you so much for the opportunity of a lifetime. We came here to celbrate our 13th anniversary. We stayed in the hot tub under the stars and held each other tight by the fireplace "
The Hoveys, Ruckersville, VA
"It was a relaxing and fun memorial weeknd! The cabin is so beautiful! We enjoyed the front porch and extra comfy beds! It was a very restful stay. Thanks for everything!"
The Burns & Mansolino Families
"What a wonderful place- it exceeded my expectarions! The loft is fabulous. We walked to the top each morning and evening to see the horses. (They really like apples!) I think we had the whole mountain to ourselves and we walked every square inch of it. We visited Blue Ridge Pottery and met Louie the dog. We'll be back!
Randy, Lisa, & Amanda (Age 8)
"I'll remember this beautiful log cabin for the rest of my life. I enjoyed my time with my grandson MAXWELL! Thank you!!"
